Harrison claims composer award

Salford University student Alistair Harrison claims the Buxton Festival composer competition award with his work, 'The Secrets of the Water'.

To celebrate the recent 40th anniversary of the Buxton Festival Fringe, Burbage Band (Buxton) launched a competition for young brass composers to come up with a work to mark the occasion.

The winner has now been announced as Alistair Harrison, a second-year student at Salford University for his work 'The Secrets of the Water' which took the £250 cash prize.

The music pays homage to Buxton's spa heritage, and will receive its public debut at Burbage Band's spring concert on Friday the 17th May.
