The Lancashire Youth Band will be heading to Scotland this weekend for a 5 day tour to Ayrshire. Musical Director Helen Minshall is delighted to be taking the band to the area where she grew up and first started playing brass.

The band will perform a series of concerts at Culzean Castle (with Dalmellington Brass Academy), St Nicholas Church Prestwick, Dumfries House, and Ayr Salvation Army Church (with Ayr Salvation Army Band).

Workshop day

Before heading home the band will also lead a workshop day at Ayr Town Hall, which is open to brass players from all over Ayrshire, many who will be taking advantage of a local in-service day for schools.

South Ayrshire Music Service is taking bookings, and players of Grade 2 standard and above are welcome.
