Littleport Brass will be bouncing back with their new signings

Littleport Brass has welcomed back Jamie Clay, who re-joins as their new principal cornet, and who takes over from James Stygall who moved to play soprano.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "James has led the band on the end chair for just over a year, but when Jamie came back he offered to move to the soprano chair, and we thank him for that as he is a great player."

Jamie isn't the only new arrival since MD Ian Knapton took over in September, with cornet players Avril Conway, Shane Brown, Helen Driver, Joseph Winters and Carl Impey coming on alongside Emma Ribchester on horn.

With James moving to soprano it also shows what team players we have at Littleport and we can now really look forward to the summer season and the contests at Bolsover and LeicesterIan Knapton

Bounce back

The band is now almost back to full strength and ready to bounce back to contesting, as Ian told 4BR. "Over the last eight months I've seen a great change in commitment, attitude, enjoyment and development from the band.

With James moving to soprano it also shows what team players we have at Littleport and we can now really look forward to the summer season and the contests at Bolsover and Leicester."
