Pallister takes the baton at Leicestershire Co-op

Luke Pallister has become the new Musical Director at Leicestershire Co-op Band.

The Leicestershire Co-op Band has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Luke Pallister.

The experienced cornet player and recent graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music has gained a wealth of experience, having played with the likes of Foden's and has played principal cornet for both Leyland and the RNCM Brass Band. He is currently the principal cornet of Ratby Co-operative Band.

He has also conducting experience with Glossop Old and Farnworth & Walkden, who he led to the Second Section National Finals for the first time in their history.

Band Manager Steve Barham told 4BR: "We're delighted that Luke has accepted the role, as he clearly has the right level of experience to enhance our music making.

The band will be competing in the Second Section next year and we see his experience as key to our progression and development."

In response Luke added: "I'm thrilled to be leading the band with the opportunities and challenges that this will bring."
