The Tylorstown Band has announced the appointment of Robert Westacott as their Professional Conductor.

The Tredegar Band soprano player has a close connection with the band and will make his debut with them at the forthcoming British Open Spring Festival.

Experience

Band Manager Kevin Jones told 4BR: "Rob brings a wealth of experience gained both as a player and conductor and we have been enjoying working with him on 'The Accursed Huntsman' for Blackpool."

In response Rob said: "This is a lovely chance to link back with the band and I'm really enjoying the progress that has already been made. It's nice to swap the soprano for a baton."
