GBBA
The contest makes a welcome return this year

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) is set to host its popular Entertainment Contest once again.

It will take place on Sunday 21st April at Chosen Hill School, Churchdown, Gloucester and builds on the encouraging success of its annual Own-Choice contest.

New venue

A spokesperson told 4BR; "We are delighted to bring back a rejuvenated event which we hop will attract plenty of bands to a new venue which includes a stage and large apron to add to the entertainment factor."

Bands in each of the two classes will perform a 20-minute set that must include a solo item to impress the open adjudication of the experienced conductor, Chris King, Chair of the Music Commission of the European Brass Band Association. The equally experienced David Hayward will act as compere.

Classes:

Class A Registered Bands
