Delph to add to Showcase Brass attractions at Dobcross

The Delph Band is the latest to showcase their Sunday afternoon talents at Dobcross Band Club.

Delph Band
It is the turn of the Delph Band to showcase their entertainment talents

The latest concert in the popular 'Showcase Brass' series of Sunday afternoon concerts at Dobcross Band and Social Club is to be provided by the Delph Band on Sunday 22nd June.

Selection

Under the baton of Phil Goodwin there will be an eclectic selection of family friendly music on offer — from the opening march, 'New Colonial' all the way through to Duke Ellington's 'Caravan' with detours to 'Adventures in Brass', Ticket to Ride', Lux Aurumque' and 'All Through the Night' in between.

There is an extensive solo spotlight too from the recent Buxton Contest Second Section winners — with items provided by Paul Towle (cornet), Bill Bayley (soprano), Christine Longhurst (horn), Eleanor Sever (flugel) and Keith Palmer (euphonium).

Come and enjoy

The ethos is simple as organiser Jason M Smith told 4BR: "It's all about the music. We want bands to come and perform their latest concert programmes, try out something new or simply perform sets they are comfortable with. It's for bands to showcase their talents.

It's all undertaken in a relaxed Sunday afternoon manner — so why not come along and enjoy yourselves."
