Entries are now being welcomed from bands and ensembles for this year's Scottish Youth Championships which take place on Sunday 29th November at Perth Concert Hall.
Part of the three-contest Scottish Festival of Brass, which includes at the same venue, the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge (21st November) and the Scottish Open supported by Besson on 28th November.
Five sections
The Scottish Youth Championships will feature five competitive sections; Novice, Intermediate, Development, Senior and Premier, as well as a non-competitive category.
The Novice Section will feature a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 10 minutes which must include the set work which should be any movement from 'A Debut Suite' from the Junior Band Series by Rob J. Hume.
Intermediate and Development Section competitors will play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 15 minutes which must include 'The Brasserie!' and 'A Little Ragtime' from the Junior Band Series arr. Alan Fernie respectively.
The Senior Section bands can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 20 minutes playing time, whilst Premier Section contenders can play a programme of own-choice music not exceeding 25 minutes playing time.
