Ahead of the hosting of the 45th Dutch National Championships in Utrecht this weekend, the organising NBK Foundation has announced the welcome news that it will continue to support the Dutch National Youth Brass Band (NJBB) until 2029.
In a statement confirming the news NBK said that the organisation "wants to contribute to the development of talented young players."
Financial support
It is understood that the NBK Foundation will contribute financial support aimed at the musical development of the NJBB and in its role in its link to the European Youth Brass Band.
Speaking about the news, NBK Chairperson, Ale Nicolai said: "In addition to organising an annual championship, the mission of the NBK Foundation is also to play a driving role when it comes to developing future talent. This gives everyone in our banding a huge boost."
Very happy
In response, NJBB co-founder and board member Siebren van Noort added: "We are very happy with this continued support from the NBK Foundation. It is a very clear signal that that the NJBB is appreciated at a national level. With the support of the NBK, the NJBB can secure the future of many more great projects."
The news adds to the recent collaboration that saw the NJBB devoted a day of its Summer Course to rehearsing and recording the four newly written and arranged works for this year's National Championships in Utrecht under the direction of conductors Katrina Marzella and Philip Harper.
