Members of the City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band have been asked to take part in a local amateur dramatic society's performance of the stage version of "Brassed Off".

Great fun

Chairman Dave Howard told 4BR: "This promises to be great fun for performers and audience alike and there are still one or two opportunities for other players to join the performances."

Old instruments

Dave added: "The band are also looking for old instruments that can be used by actors pretending to play in the band, so organisers are anxious to hear from anyone who can donate, or lend an old flugel, tenor horn, trombone, euphonium or tuba that won't suffer unduly from some extra dents or scratches."
