The 62nd Annual Championships of the South West Brass Band Association will be held on Saturday 15th November at the Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay.

The contest commences at 9.30am and continuing through until mid-evening. The adjudicator is Steve Pritchard-Jones.

Good turn out

Despite the credit crunch and other factors reportedly affecting bands, 37 bands have entered to compete in the 6 sections.

Myth

The Championships are unique in as much as no prize money is paid or has ever been paid in 62 years, surely dismissing the myth that monetary awards are essential in attracting bands to contests.

All-day tickets are only £7 (concession £5).
