The Ellenbrook & Boothstown Band has announced the appointment of Composer-in-Association, Nick Garbett.

Close friend

Nick has been a close friend of the band for a number of years and is studying for a music degree at Salford University.

He recently won a composition competition for Salford City Reds rugby team entitled, 'The Legend of the Red Devil'. Nick’s fanfare won the competition by a public vote.

After this, the band quickly invited him to assume the new post, and Nick will write a signature march for the band, as well as other concert items which will be featured in forthcoming concerts.

Impressed

Principal conductor Craig Mann told 4BR: "We were very impressed with the music he has written for brass band and jumped straight at the chance to have Nicks services. We are very much looking forward to working with him."
