Radio: Time for Brass

More great music from Ian Cottier on Manx Radio

After the three special programmes, two of listeners' requests and the studio conversation with David Horsfield, it's back to trying to keep up with the constant stream of albums that "Time for Brass" attracts from all the major recording companies.

It really is wonderful how well the programme is supported, both by its listeners and by the companies who sustain the high profile of bands. It's such a pleasure to be able to reciprocate with a world-wide promotion of these albums through the wonders of the internet.

Two albums on tonight’s show are woth a word of advance comment. Every so often I receive a recording that merits every track being broadcast. Such a one is “Patrons’ Choice” recorded by Fodens on the Egon label.

Quite different is a solo album by the late Brian Evans, first recorded in 1988 and re-issued on CD in 2004 by Kirklees music. It needs no comment from me to add to Brian Evans’s legendary status, so just sit back and enjoy the music.
