A huge Brass Explosion will occur on the 8th May, when Foden's ignite into life with Marsden Silver

Glyn Williams Musical Instruments presents a Brass Explosion Concert featuring Marsden Silver Prize Band and special guests Fodens Band.

Hectic

Marsden Band are currently preparing for a hectic month where the band will be competing at the Grand Shield on the 15th of May, Whit Friday on the 28th of May and the All England International Masters on the 30th of May.

Big Bang

Just to set off the proceeding with a Big Bang, Glyn Williams Musical Instruments has booked the band to feature in a Brass Explosion Concert along side no other than the current North West Area, All England Masters and Brass in Concert Champions, Fodens Band.

Run Out

Marsden Band will be using the concert as a ‘run out’ where the band will be opening the first half with ‘Knight Templar’ in preparation for Whit Friday and closing with a performance of Edward Gregson’s ‘Rococo Variations’ in preparation for the Grand Shield.

Fodens

Fodens will take the stage in the second half with Garry Cutt at the helm and will feature pieces such as ‘The Barber of Seville, ‘Deep inside the Sacred Temple’ featuring Glyn Williams & Mark Bousie, ‘Pacquito’, ‘March Slav’ and Solo’s by John Barber and Mark Landon.

Where & When?

The Concert will be held at St Bartholomew’s Church in Marsden on the 8th of May 2010 and commences at 7pm.

Glyn would also like to invite people up to Marsden Band Club after the concert to meet players from both bands and for a bite to eat where Kathleen Coton’s famous home made Meat and Potato Pie will be served.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
