Brass Bands International, sponsors of the US Open Brass Band Championships has announced the panel of adjudicators for this year’s event.

Eight bands

The contest, featuring eight bands from around the US and Canada, will be held at the Norris Center for the Arts in St. Charles, Illinois on Saturday, November 6th.

The committee has announced that Alan Morrison returns to judge at the contest for the first time since 2003, whilst his namesake (but not a relative), David Morrison will be making his first appearance as an adjudicator at the Open. David is currently the Director of Bands at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Dale Lonis will once again serve as the Chief Judge. He is currently the CEO of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, having served a similar post with the Winnipeg Symphony in Canada.
