Road closure alert for Brass in Concert

If you are heading to Sage Gateshead then there are some road closures to think of...

Sage

Bands and supporters making their way to the Brass in Concert Championship this weekend should note that they need to make extra travel time provisions to get to Sage Gateshead if they are using the A1 road.

34 hour closure

4BR has been advised that the A1 Leeming to Barton improvement scheme has a planned 34 hour closure of the A1 between Leeming and Scotch Corner.

The closure will be in place from 8.00pm on Saturday 14th November until 6.00am on Monday 16th November.

During this period, southbound traffic will be diverted southbound from Junction 60 of the A1, heading east on the A689 towards the A19 and south to re-join the A1 at Junction 49.

The reverse route will be in operation for any traffic travelling north.

The closure will be in place from 8.00pm on Saturday 14th November until 6.00am on Monday 16th November4BR

Make a note

Stuart Culley, Public Liaison Officer of Highway England told 4BR: "As such, access to Sage Gateshead should not be affected, however, it may be beneficial to ensure any drivers and travellers make a note of what is happening."

Details are included on Highways England's website and there is an interactive diversion map (map 2) that can be used to support this.
