Bands of all sections and abilities are being reminded that the closing date for the popular Easingwold Lions March & Hymn Tune contest is fast looking.

This year's event will have a confirmed prize pot of £1400, with £200 up for grabs for the winners of each section from Championship down to Unregistered, plus additional prizes for march awards and instrumentalists.

March and hymn

The contest will be held on Saturday June 1st, in Easingwold Market place and will consist of a shortened march before the performance of a march and hymn tune on the contest stand. The event will start at 5.00pm with an anticipated finish for 9.30pm.

Closing date

Entries close on May 11th and the pre-draw will take place on May 12th. Any bands doing both Ripon Contest and Easingwold on the same day can apply for a draw to suit their travel plans.
