Kirkintilloch Kelvin Brass has announced a new conducting team who will lead the band in their preparation and performance at the Scottish Championship in Perth in March.

Chris Bradley, the principal cornet of Whitburn Band has been appointed resident conductor with the experienced Thomas Wyss as professional conductor as the band looks to secure a qualification place at the Albert Hall National Final in 2020.

Wide experience

Band spokesperson Ray Gault told 4BR: "Chris has wide experience from playing in and conducting brass bands in Scotland, and we have all heard him as principal cornet of Whitburn Band for many years.

He's been a guest conductor and tutor with us in the past, most recently for last year's Scottish Championship.

We believe he's the ideal person to help us improve and grow as a musical unit and will start working with us in the New Year."
