Dutch get ready to rejoice with National return

The 2021 Dutch National Championships take place in Utrecht on the weekend — with the world premiere of Edward Gregson's test piece to look forward to.

Tivoli
The championships take place at the Tivolivredenburg in Utrecht.

The long-awaited world premiere of Edward Gregson's 'The World Rejoicing' (Variations on a Lutheran Chorale) will take place at The Netherlands National Championships in Utrecht on the weekend.

Single day

The 40th edition of the contest will be hosted at the Tivolivredenburg in Utrecht on Saturday — in a championship that has been condensed into a singular day of competition comprising five sections. The action starts at 8.30am (local time).

The Championship Section will see 10 bands perform Edward Gregson's long awaited work, with the composer in attendance.

4BR Editor Iwan Fox is making the trip to enjoy the action and provide live reporting on the day. The contest is being recorded by BrassPass.tv with performances made available within 24 hours of the event.
