The 175th anniversary celebrations of Eagley Band will hopefully be enjoyed not only by packed audiences at forthcoming concerts, but also by a wider audience, thanks to interest shown by ITV television.
They recently contacted the band with a view to visit the North West organisation after hearing of their celebration plans with star trumpet player Mike Lovatt at Bolton Town Hall and their forthcoming trip to Cheltenham to represent the North West area at the Second Section National Finals.
Out of the blue
Band Chairperson Deb Lyons commented: "It has come completely out of the blue. It's already been a brilliant year for the band, and we are still appealing to every former member to get in touch if they would like to come and play in the October reunion concert with Mike Lovatt.
We've already got 40 former players coming from Kent, London, Bath, Birmingham, the Midlands, and now ITV want to come and film us as well, which will be very special."
