Chris Jeans, the Artistic Director of Youth Brass 2000, has been presented with the Brian Hicks Memorial Award by the British Federation of Brass Bands for his continued service and outstanding dedication to youth brass bands in Great Britain.

Highest levels

Chris has been involved with Youth Brass 2000, the current Youth Entertainment Champions, since its inception in 1989, and has taken the band to the very highest levels of performance over the past 20 years.

Titles

Under his guidance Youth Brass has won the French Open title six times, the National Entertainment Champions of Great Britain on four occasions, the BBC Youth Band of the Year, plus many, many other worthy events.

Over 25 years

He has been a Brass Instrumental Teacher at Leicester Grammar School for the past 17 years and as a clinician has worked with Antoine Courtois and Besson Musical Instruments for over 25 years.

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
