Full house of delegates on this year's Elgar International Brass Band Summer School

A reserve list is opened as attractions boost demand for places.

The full house signs are up at the 2025 course

The Elgar International Brass Band Summer School has confirmed that a 'full house' of delegates will enjoy the musical attractions on this year's course.

Reserve list

A spokesperson told 4BR that such has been the demand that a reserve list is now in place to cover any places that become available. Bookings are already being taken for the 2026 course.

Course Director, Carole Crompton told 4BR: "We've thought carefully about the delegate experience, and with the valuable input from previous attendees we continue to strive to offer a unique musical experience.

This sees great variation in the music-making and increased access to tutors. We have also increased our tutor numbers to include some of banding's most experienced and sought-after personalities."

Tutors

This year that will include '4BR Player of the Year' Paul Richards and '4BR Special Award' dedicatee, Grethe Tonheim, Mike Cavanagh of Black Dyke Band as well as Shaun Crowther from Brighouse & Rastrick. This year Black Dyke Band legend John Clough will come along to present a 'legends talk' with delegates.

Applications for the EIBBSS conducting pathway are closing at the end of February. If you would like to be considered, go to: www.eibbss.org.uk
