Trombone soloist Peter Moore will continue his busy schedule of spotlight performances this month with appearances in Birmingham, Barcelona and London.
On 15th January, the 4BR 'Solo CD of the Year' award winner will give the European premiere of the Dai Fujikura's 'Trombone Concerto' (Vast Ocean II) with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
It forms part of a concert at Symphony Hall that also features Mahler's 'Symphony No1' and 'Blumine' under the baton of Kazuki Yamada.
On the 18th January he heads to Barcelona to perform Gunter Schuller's, 'Eine Kleine Posaunenmusik' with the Barcelona Symphonic Band under Jose R. Pascual-Vilaplana, before he rounds off the month with an exciting concert at Regent Hall in London on Saturday 31st January.
Trivergence
Entitled, 'Trivergence' it sees him link up with Mark Nightingale and Andy Wood alongside a handpicked trombone octet for a concert that celebrates the expressive power and versatility of the instrument.
It will feature arrangements by Mark Nightingale, including his vibrant reworking of Bernstein's iconic score to 'West Side Story Suite', as well as his epic 'Porgy and Bess Suite' by Gershwin.
The evening hosted with support of the British Trombone Society and Michael Rath Trombones will also see the world premiere of 'Trivergence', written by Mark, exploring the unique strengths of each of the soloists across three diverse movements in a richly textured dialogue with the octet.
