Cumbria Brass Network to meet in person

In a great new step, the Cumbria Brass Network will meet in person to help support its aims and ambitions — so please go along and and add to the progress already made.

Cumbria Brass network
The meeting will be held on 7th February

The Cumbria Brass Network is due to meet in person for the first time next month.

The focus will be on youth, training and what a strong Cumbria Brass identity might look like in practice — one that supports bands without compromising their independence.

The event takes place on Saturday 7th February at the Rheged Centre, Penrith (3.00pm until 5.00pm).

Informal

The event will present a straightforward, informal discussion rather than a presentation that covers shared experiences from training and youth bands, as well as comparing what has helped bands flourish and what has made things harder.

It is hoped to be able to update band details for the Cumbria Brass directory and test whether there is interest in a small number of shared principles that bands could choose to stand behind, while remaining independent.

Listen and compare

A spokesperson stated: "The aim is simply to listen, compare experience and see whether there are practical, manageable ways of working together that would make life easier for bands across the county."
