Boobs mean Brass in 2008

It's been a great 2008 for the fantastic girls of Boobs & Brass.

Boobs and Brass

What a fantastic year 2008 was for "Boobs & Brass" — the great ladies in pink jackets raising funds for Breast Cancer.

Fantastic time

They experienced a fantastic time in Scotland in Perthshire, where they recruited three new members and also had a brilliant time at the Whit Friday Marches — the second experience being as good as the first.

Highlight

However, the undoubted highlight was their guest appearance with the lads of Brighouse & Rastrick. All this and they enjoyed a television appearance or two, the result of all this excitement was a fantastic amount of £14,500 all of which has been donated to charity — mainly Breast Cancer Campaign.

We have already given £10,925 towards the £15,000 required to fund the project for 2009Maggie and Jane of Boobs & Brass

Effects

Maggie and Jane told 4BR: "Jane and I have selected a project where Dr Julian Barwell of the University of Leicester will study the effects of radiotherapy on the hearts of breast cancer patients and aims to understand exactly the effects are and whether simple blood tests can predict and monitor these effects. People who receive radiotherapy as part of their breast cancer treatment are 30% more likely to die from heart complications."

Project

They added: "We have already given £10,925 towards the £15,000 required to fund the project for 2009. We have no doubt that we can raise the balance by the deadline August 2009 date."

So if you see the girls on their travels and in their pink jackets, make sure you dig deep into your pockets too.
